# Create an Account

> Sign up for a VelaFi account in minutes, then log in and complete the next steps to start accepting and sending payments globally.

Creating a VelaFi account is the first step toward accessing the full suite of on-ramp, off-ramp, and global payment APIs. Once your account is active, you can create merchants, generate API keys, and start building integrations immediately.

**1. Visit the VelaFi Signup Page**

Open your browser and navigate to [velafi.com/signup](https://www.velafi.com/signup).

> Use a work email address for your account. This makes it easier to manage API keys and merchant profiles as your team grows.

**2. Complete Registration**

Follow the on-screen instructions to fill in your registration details. This typically includes your name, email address, and a secure password.

Submit the form when you are ready. VelaFi will send a verification email to the address you provided — open it and click the confirmation link to activate your account.

**3. Log In to Your Account**

Return to [velafi.com](https://www.velafi.com) and sign in with the credentials you just created. If two-factor authentication (2FA) is available during login, enable it now — it is required later when you generate an API key.

With your account active, you are ready to configure the remaining pieces of your integration.
